The only tour in Catalan to Belfast! Free tour West Belfast: peace walls, conflict and consequences
Dia duit (hello in Irish Gaèlic)! In December, Elisabet, a graduate from Barcelona, finished a master's degree in conflict transformation and social justice in Belfast.
My interest in the city has made it possible to share it with more people, so it has organized the only free tour to Belfast in Catalan. It is a political tour of the West Belfast area. There will be a maximum of 5 adults on this tour. I will share with you everything that I learned during the master's degree, along with the interviewers who will experience the Troubles and will have an important participation.
The tour starts at the entrance of the An Lon Dubh cafe (30 Divis St). I will begin with an introduction to the Troubles. Afterwards we look at the Divis Tower, a historic building. We will continue along Falls Road, with various murals on the wall that divides the republican area of Falls Road from the loyalist area of Shankill Road (did you know that it faces around thirty murals around the city?).
Next we will take a look at the Bobby Sands mural and also see two of the memory gardens. We will pass through the Monastery of Clonard and I will recommend a museum in the most interesting area (in which there is a very important object for Catalonia).
I will focus on whether Northern Ireland is a post-conflict society or facing conflict , on the walls that divide the unionist zones from the pro-unification of Ireland and the Irish Gael, among others.
Finally, I will recommend pubs and restaurants in West Belfast and the centre, museums and other villages in northern Ireland. Ah, I'll teach you some paraules in Irish Gael!

Dia duit (hello in Irish Gaelic)! My name is Elisabet, I am from Barcelona and I am finishing a master's degree in conflict transformation and social justice in Belfast.
My interest in the city has led me to want to share it with more people, which is why I'm organizing the only free tour in Belfast in Catalan. It's a political tour of the West Belfast area. The group will be limited to a maximum of 5 adults. I'll share everything I've learned in my master's program, as well as insights gained from interviews with people who lived through the Troubles and played a significant role in them.
The tour begins at the entrance of the An Lon Dubh café (30 Divis St). There, I'll give you an introduction to the Troubles. Afterward, we'll head to the Divis Tower, a building steeped in history. We'll continue along Falls Road, where we'll see several murals and the wall that divides the Republican Falls Road area from the Loyalist Shankill Road area (did you know there are still about thirty walls throughout the city?).
Next, we'll head towards the Bobby Sands mural and also see two of the memorial gardens. We'll pass by the Clonard Monastery, and I'll recommend a very interesting local museum (it displays an object of great importance to Catalan society).
I will focus on whether Northern Ireland is a post-conflict society or still in conflict , on the walls that divide the unionist areas from those that favor the reunification of Ireland, and on Irish Gaelic, among other topics.
Finally, I'll recommend pubs and restaurants in West Belfast and the city center, museums, and other places to visit in Northern Ireland. Oh, and I'll teach you a few words of Irish Gaelic!
