Enricoandfriends: Ile de la cité tour
Description
On this tour of the Île de la Cité, we'll see Paris through a different lens, delving into the history and origins of the City of Light. After meeting next to the statue of Charlemagne, in front of Notre-Dame, we'll begin our stroll through the beating heart of the city. The Paris we know today is very different from the one we'll explore: the island, a small natural jewel in the heart of the Seine, is the oldest part of the city center. We'll begin our journey by heading to Place Louis Lépine, where we'll focus on the neighborhood's most important buildings, such as the Hôtel-Dieu and the Tribunal de Commerce. It's only a few steps to the Sainte-Chapelle, a true architectural emblem of the Radiant Gothic style. We'll then discover the history of Paris's oldest public clock on the towers of the Conciergerie and, after a pleasant break among the colors and scents of the Marché aux Fleurs, we'll continue walking along the Seine, leaving room for other anecdotes and curiosities. We'll end our walk where it all began, in front of the queen of Paris: Notre-Dame Cathedral!
