Come and discover the picturesque fishermen's district of Torre Faro, located on the North Eastern Cape of Messina, Cape Peloro, marked by the monumental iron tower, called Pilone.
We will start the tour at the Lago Piccolo, the smallest of the two Ganzirri lakes, famous for their rich biodiversity and marine ecosystem and surrounded by the best seafood restaurants in Messina.
We will take a look at the breathtaking view from the beach of the Cape, where the two seas meet: the Ionian and the Thyrrenean.
We will then move on to the historic Lighthouse, still a point of reference for navigating the Strait of Messina.
I will also show you 'The British tower', part of the ancient fortifications of Messina and an iconic part of this district.
The name Torre Faro comes, indeed, from the combination of these two elements: the tower and the lighthouse!
