Free Night Tour of Baeza. Discover the City Illuminated

The tour lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes
Available in Spanish

Description

Discover Baeza at night on this free tour through its historic center, when its squares, palaces, churches, and alleyways take on a special atmosphere. We will walk through the monumental heart of a city declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, uncovering its history, legends, and some of its lesser-known stories.

We will start at the Arch of the Schools, the gateway to Baeza's historic ensemble. From there, we will head to the Old University, where we will remember the figure of Antonio Machado and learn about the academic life of one of the most important institutions of Renaissance Andalusia.

We will continue to the Plaza de Santa Cruz to contemplate the only preserved Romanesque church in Baeza and admire the spectacular façade of the Jabalquinto Palace, one of the great jewels of Spanish Isabelline Gothic.

We will then arrive at the Plaza de Santa María, dominated by the majestic Cathedral of Baeza, to learn about some of the episodes and characters that are part of the city's history.

But one of the most special moments will be venturing into the alleyways behind the Cathedral. As night falls, this corner of Baeza takes on a unique atmosphere. Among its stone walls, we will discover legends, curiosities, anecdotes, and stories that reveal the most intimate and mysterious side of the city.

We will continue to the Conciliar Seminary of San Felipe Neri, where we will learn about its importance in Baeza's history and discover the curious meaning of the famous red letters on its façade.

We will end at the Fountain of the Lions, one of the most emblematic spots in Baeza, where we will learn its history and conclude the tour by admiring the illuminated historic center.
