Authentic Byblos (Free Tour): History, Archaeology and Local Life

  • 2 hours
  • English

Description

On this free tour, we'll explore Byblos (Jbeil), one of the oldest cities in the world: the archaeological site, the castle with its museum, the churches, the port, the ancient souks, and the modern part of the city.
We'll discover its beaches, museums, and the history of the communities that have inhabited it, including the Armenian Genocide Memorial and the fossil museum.
You'll learn about the traces of the Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Crusaders, as well as the legends, traditions, and local life of Byblos (Jbeil).

We'll also discuss how the ancient city has transformed into the modern-day Jbeil, discovering lesser-known corners, local customs, gastronomy, and the relationship its inhabitants have with the sea.
This is an experience that allows you to understand Byblos not only through its monuments, but also through its people and their daily lives.
