Gazete Azulejos — Authentic Azulejo Heritage Experience in Porto
Gazete Azulejos offers an immersive cultural experience dedicated to the preservation of Porto’s azulejo heritage. Rooted in traditional craftsmanship, this hands-on workshop invites participants to engage with one of Portugal’s most emblematic art forms.
The Experience
Participants are welcomed into an authentic atelier in Porto, where they are introduced to the history, symbolism, and cultural importance of Portuguese azulejos, with a special focus on Porto’s façades and traditional patterns.
Guided by experienced artisans, each participant hand-paints two traditional azulejos, using historic patterns by the city’s architectural heritage. No prior experience is required.

Duration
Approximately 2 hours
After the Workshop
The azulejos are fired overnight in a ceramic kiln. Finished tiles are available for collection the following day at 4:00 pm, or can be carefully packed and shipped worldwide upon request.
