Explore Portugal's main place of pilgrimage, Fátima, and the beautiful town of Coimbra during this enriching day trip.
Day Trip Details
After meeting at Calçada da Vandoma, we will travel south, covering a distance of 200 km to reach Fátima.
Upon arrival, you will experience the historical significance of the apparition of the Virgin Mary, which took place in 1917 when she revealed herself to three shepherd children. In Fátima, we will visit the three noteworthy sites: the Sanctuary, the Basilica, and the Chapel of the Apparitions.
After the visit, you will have free time to have lunch, enjoy a leisurely stroll through the city, or relax with a coffee.
Next, we will continue to Coimbra, the fourth largest city in Portugal, where we will explore the University (recognized as one of the oldest universities in continuous operation worldwide), the Old Cathedral (built in the 12th century, showcasing clear Arab influence), and we will also traverse the historic centre of the town.
Eventually, we will conclude our journey at Rua de Alexandre Herculano after a total of 9 hours.
