Hallo, mein Name ist Ronald Tapia. Geschichte und Archäologie sind meine Leidenschaft. Seit über 30 Jahren arbeite ich in Museen und erforsche die indigenen Kulturen Ecuadors. Ich bin in die geheimnisvolle Höhle der Tayos hinabgestiegen, habe bei den Shuar gelebt, einem Stamm, der die Kunst des Köpfeschrumpfens praktizierte, und war Teil einer Gruppe, die versucht hat, außerirdischen Kontakt herzustellen – Erfahrungen, die mich geprägt und motiviert haben, diese Geheimnisse mit der Welt zu teilen. Ich spreche Spanisch, Englisch und Französisch und möchte jedem Besucher ein unvergessliches Erlebnis bieten, indem ich Geschichte, Archäologie, Mythologie und Legenden in einer einzigen Tour vereine. I have traveled to dozens of countries and taken hundreds of tours, and I can honestly say that Ronald is the most prepared professional I have ever seen. His way of explaining comes from a place of deep knowledge and a genuine heart. I cannot recommend him highly enough; he is truly on another level. A must-experience in Ecuador!

Este tour ha sido la mejor experiencia que he tenido en mi vida, de recorridos turísticos, junto con mi familia, hasta hoy. Es simplemente impresionante como Ronald DOMINA todos los conocimientos de Historia, Arqueología, Mitología, Etnografía y costumbres ancestrales, no sólo de Cuenca, sino a nivel global, que incluso, pudo hacer relatos comparativos con culturas precolombinas como los Mayas, los Aztecas y por si fuera poco, terminamos hablando de correlaciones con culturas Mesopotámicas. ¡Nunca había visto en todos mis viajes de turismo a alguien como él!, tomando en cuenta que he visitado Florencia, Bruselas, Roma, Barcelona, Sevilla, Niza, París. Fue realmente enriquecedor poder conocer tanto sobre la historia y la prehistoria de todos los grupos aborígenes precolombinos antes de la llegada de los Incas. La pasión con la que Ronald transmite sus relatos y sus vivencias de campo en la Cueva de Los Tayos, junto a la tribu de los Shuar, reductores de cabezas, ha sido para nuestra familia una fuente de conocimientos, que inclusive anotamos detalles que no conocíamos. Nunca imaginé que en mi propio país tendría la mejor experiencia de guianza, en modo académico, que jamás experimentamos; fueron casi 4 horas de conocimiento y disfrute puro. Definitivamente, si quieren conocer la prehistoria, historia y todos los detalles minuciosamente explicados de manera magistral, ÉSTE ES EL TOUR que necesitan elegir. ¡¡Simplemente fue una experiencia FANTÁSTICA!! ¡Gracias Ronald! ¡Eres un crack!
An excellent walking tour! Ronald is an incredibly enthusiastic guide, and his passion for the history of Cuenca and the Indigenous peoples of Ecuador shines through every story he tells. As an anthropologist who has participated in field studies, he brings far more than textbook knowledge — he shares insights you simply won’t find in a guidebooks. He masterfully blends history, culture, and personal experience, making every stop along the walk feel meaningful. His explanations were vivid and accessible, and his stories were so engaging that we ended up talking with him for almost four hours. We kept asking questions, and he answered every single one with patience, depth, and true generosity. If you want to understand Cuenca beyond the surface — its people, traditions, and hidden layers — this is the tour to take. Highly recommended! ❤️
