The tour guide was very friendly and his English was much better than others I encountered in this monopoly of tour operators in Ho Chi Minh. None of this reflects on him personally. Unfortunately, the overall experience was overshadowed by the same chaotic, unorganized, and manipulative group that runs multiple tours across GuruWalk under different listings. ( for context I took the food tour with what I thought a different group but turned out to be the same group and left a somewhat detailed review there). I genuinely believed this tour was run by a different team, only to find out—yet again—it was the same group behind all the issues I described in my other review about the food tour. The constant rescheduling, the pressure, the forced time changes, and the push for extra payments all resurfaced here as well. It’s impossible to enjoy a tour when you’re being bounced around, contacted nonstop, and treated like your time doesn’t matter. By this point, it was clear: this isn’t a coincidence, it’s a cartel-style setup where one unorganized group controls multiple tours and mismanages them all. The experience left me feeling stressed, harassed, and completely let down. Ho Chi Minh City has amazing history and culture, but this group soured that part of my visit. I strongly recommend avoiding any GuruWalk tour in Ho Chi Minh, because you may very well end up dealing with this same shady operation. Friendly guide, though a more proactive and in depth explanation of the Museum was lacking. Terrible management — overall, a deeply disappointing experience.

We had a very informative tour and learned a lot about the history of Vietnam!

This tour was very emotional and educational. Mr. Anh is passionate about the history of his country and has a lot of stories to share, in every place he took us to. He was really captivating and it was as we could feel and see the events of the past while he was presenting them. A must do in Ho Chi Minh for anyone who is willing to really connect with the Vietnamies history and mindset.

My tour guide (Quân) was truly passionate about Vietnamese history, especially the Vietnam wars throughout the country’s past. He based his explanations on both historical books and stories he has heard from local people, which made the experience very authentic. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and always willing to answer any questions about history, culture, and life in Vietnam. I believe that if I had visited these places on my own, I wouldn’t have had the chance to truly understand and feel the real history of this country. I truly recommend this tour, as it captures the essence of a nation with an incredibly rich and meaningful history that everyone should learn about.
