This walking tour was honestly one of the highlights of my time in Lisbon. Slava was incredibly knowledgeable, but what really stood out was how he shared it—everything was explained in a way that was engaging, clear, and genuinely intriguing. He had thoughtful answers to every question, never rushed us, and somehow made history feel alive instead of dusty. On top of that, he was kind, fun, and easy to talk to, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and personal rather than scripted. This is definitely not your traditional Sintra tour and that’s the fun of it! Instead of a standard history walk, our guide dives into the lesser-known Masonic influences of the town, mixing his research with symbolism hidden in plain sight. There’s no hard proof tying everything together (whether it’s Freemasons, the Order of Christ, or something else entirely!) but there are just enough symbols, architectural details, and connections to intriguing historical figures to make you stop and think. Coincidence… or not? If you’re looking for a typical facts-only, checklist-style tour, this probably isn’t for you. But if you’ve already done the classic Sintra tour (or enjoy a little mystery with your history) this experience offers a fresh, imaginative perspective and turns the walk into a genuinely fun piece of storytelling.
