Ich bin in Hongkong geboren. Ich bin staatlich geprüfter Reiseleiter und Tourbegleiter sowie zertifizierter Dozent der Hong Kong Docent Association. Ich kenne mich bestens mit den Sehenswürdigkeiten Hongkongs, traditionellen Festen und Veranstaltungen, der lokalen Küche usw. aus. Zuvor war ich Pfadfinderleiter und besitze die Zertifikate für Wandern und Camping. Ich bin mit Führungen im Hong Kong Geopark und Stadtführungen vertraut und habe Erfahrung als Wanderführer in Hongkong. I had the pleasure of taking Andy’s new Sha Tau Kok tour in early April 2026. From the start, everything felt well organized—Andy met me at the metro (MTR) station and we travelled together to Sha Tau Kok, near the border with mainland China. This tour is definitely off the beaten path and offers a fascinating look at Hong Kong’s history and its current relationship with the mainland. Andy mentioned that I was his first foreign tourist on this tour (it’s more commonly taken by Hong Kong locals), which made the experience feel even more special. I applied for the Sha Tau Kok Frontier Closed Area permit in advance and found the process straightforward, though Andy kindly offered to help. Highlights included a delicious Hakka meal, exploring the local market and visiting the picturesque waterfront. My visit also coincided with the Qingming Festival, and Andy explained the tradition of burning paper offerings for loved ones who have passed away. Andy brings a valuable local perspective, deep knowledge and speaks English very well, making the tour easy to follow and very engaging. It’s a bit of a journey to get there, but absolutely worth it for such a meaningful and lesser-known experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to see a different side of Hong Kong.
