Free Walking Gastronomische Touren in Oaxaca

My boyfriend and I booked this tour on a whim and it was totally worth it! We were the only ones who booked and essentially got a private tour. Arturo is so knowledgeable and knows the area well, showed us some amazing food spots, and make great recommendations for the rest of our trip. Plan to spend between 200-300 pesos per person - most places were very well priced and delicious. Definitely recommend!!

We loved it! Highly recommended. Arturo showed us around in his (old) neighbourhood. Besides the food he told us a lot about the city. He also could answer all of our questions. Oh and the food places were also really Nice and enjoyable

A wonderful tour with the lovely and friendly Lupita. I got to try lots of new and unique foods and discovered places worth coming back to. We walked a lot, so make sure to come prepared, and hungry :)

Arturo was the sweetest guide, so attentive. Not only waited for me, but helped me carry things if needed and really took care of me the whole tour. It felt like hanging out with a friend who knows a lot! Although this tour was led by food stops, he genuinely included interesting information and history in all aspects of the walk - street names, art, symbols. I highly recommend Arturo's tour!

Amazing street food tour in Oaxaca with Arturo! He was incredibly attentive, shared so many interesting facts and stories about Oaxaca, and helped me understand the culture on a much deeper level while trying absolutely delicious food along the way. Highly recommended...honestly one of the best tours I’ve ever done.

The tour was great because it was just two of us so we got a more personalized tour. In addition, the food we tried was fabulous. I've been to Mexico many times, but have never tried "street food" - wow, I was definitely missing out on something amazing. I would definitely recommend and do this tour again.

The walking food tour was great. I thought we'd get a little more insight for recipes, but it was great nonetheless. The food places we stopped were amazing. It was like eating for four hours straight and I would do this tour again.

The tour with Linda was exceptional. We got to experience so many local delicacies and heard the story about it too. Linda herself is such a warm and entertaining person and it really is so much fun spending time with her and the tour group.

The tour with Linda was amazing, we got to try dishes that we would have never tried and hear the history behind them. We very much enjoyed all the stops that we made through the Benito Juarez and 20 noviember markets. The chocolate and Mezcale tasting was also great! Thank you for the wonderful culinary experience and great company!!

My friend and I were the only people on the tour as others canceled last minute. Rupita took us on the tour anyway. She was extremely knowledgeable (not just about street food, but everything about Oaxaca, from history, culture to politics or economy). I found it very interesting and easy to talk to her. She shared her life stories with us so it felt almost like a friend was showing us around. We tried many food places, with a great variety, and our last stop was super nice restaurant (we chose one of the two options). We would’ve continued to desserts had we have any room left in our stomaches lol All in all, I highly recommend Rupita’s tour. She’s professional, friendly, knowledgeable. Best tour guide you could find.

Arturo is awesome. His food tour was mix of culture, history and food. We loved it and found it very interesting. He’s the perfect guide and he loves to share his knowledge. I would recommend it 100%

Friendly, knowledgeable and professional, Lupita toured us through the 20 de Noviembre market, and explained uses for various Mexican chilies, as well as occasions for different Oaxacan moles, while we sipped on a glass of cool, refreshing, tejate, also known as “the drink of the Gods” For our dinner at the market, we shared a paradilla of grilled Mexican meats with salsa and tortillas. We also visited a chocolaterie, where we sampled some very bitter and grainy, to smooth and delicious Mexican chocolate. We continued on to a mescalerie, and tried various flavoured creamy mezcal shots. At the end of the tour, we walked back to where we began and enjoyed some sweet sorbet. Lupita clearly has a passion for the food of her culture, and this was a delicious taste of Oaxaca!

Highly recommend this tour. We visited a neighborhood that's a bit out of the city center which was great because otherwise I probably wouldn't have gone there. We tried around 10 different things. Some of the tastings are free, some require a small payment. I shared some of the tastings with a friend what helped not getting too full and lowering the costs. Overall expect to pay around 150-200 pesos if you try everything. Arturo added great context and explanation and the vibes were great.

Wir haben die Food Tour mit Arturo gemacht und waren begeistert. Man probiert viel regionales essen: schokolade, Eis, Tacos usw. Außerdem haben wir einen super schönen Stadtteil von Oaxaca kennengelernt. Eine der besten Touren, die wir bisher gemacht haben!
