Free Walking Gastronomische Touren in Oaxaca

The tour was amazing, we sampled a range of traditional food from bread and pastries to street tortillas and tacos. Then visited local murals some of which came to life! Our local guide Arturo César was fantastic and most definately made the trip for us with his enthusiasm and knowledge. Highly recommend. Thank you 🙂

We booked this free walking food tour on the recommendation of friends, and it exceeded all our expectations! We tried so much delicious local food and learned a lot about the culture, history, and street art. Arturo was the sweetest guide, super knowledgeable, passionate, and spoke very clear, easy-to-understand English. He made the whole experience so much fun 🥰 Definitely a highlight of our trip and a must-do for anyone visiting Oaxaca 😊

Arturo César was such a nice guide and super patient with us. The tour had great food but we also learned about the history of Oaxaca and about the murals in the streets. So really a „one tour does it all“ option. 10/10 would recommend :)

Walking tour with Arturo was fab! Not just food but history, culture and art too. We only needed up being able to do one tour and this was totally the best for the pair of us. There we only two of us on it (so was basically a private tour). Learned about how a lot of the traditional food is made here and we’re also able to sample some of these dishes. We hadn’t explored Jalatlaco much so this was the perfect opportunity to do so! Would recommend this tour to anyone in Oaxaca!

It was the most fantastic food tour I've been on, with Arturo giving fascinating information about how certain plants are used for making food and other purposes, and how some are linked to the history of a place. Importantly, Arturo really listened to my experience of Mexican food in order to tailor what he was showing me on the day, to ensure that I tried something new on the tour. This might have been made possible as there was just me on the tour, instead of a group. He also told lovely stories about some murals along the way, making these murals 'alive'.

He was really nice, took us to very good food spots and showed us around the 'Barrio de Jalatlaco'. We had various food to taste, from hot chocolat, memela, ice cream to tacos and he told us a lot about the food culture here and as well everything else we asked him. We could highly recommend to take a tour with Arturo!

Genuinely one of the highlights of my trip. My partner and I learnt so much alongside eating the best food and drink we have had in Mexico so far! Arturo is professional, warm, knowledgeable. I wouldn’t visit Oaxaca without taking this tour with him!

We had such a nice time exploring with Lupita and trying some delicious local foods. Despite it being an extremely busy time of the day to be running the tour, Lupita took our suggestions into account and make sure we all tried the things we wanted to. I’d highly recommend this tour.

An absolute must do in Oaxaca! Arturo was very knowledgeable, not just on food, but the history of Oaxaca and Mexico more generally. I am vegetarian and Arturo was able to help me identify veggie options and make any adjustments which I was apprehensive about prior to booking the tour. Would thoroughly recommend!
