Hi, my name is Irmelo Lorenzo Gertze, though most people simply call me Lorenzo. I’ve been a tour guide in Swakopmund since 2015, sharing the stories of the town I grew up in and the country I love. I’ve always been fascinated by history—how events shaped places, people, and cultures—and I enjoy bringing those stories to life for visitors. Guiding has given me the chance to meet travelers from all over the world. Each encounter is an exchange: I share Namibia’s history and traditions, while learning from the perspectives of my guests. Over time, I’ve embraced a simple philosophy: life places us exactly where we’re meant to be.
