Hallo, mein Name ist Irmelo Lorenzo Gertze, aber die meisten nennen mich einfach Lorenzo. Seit 2015 bin ich Reiseleiter in Swakopmund und erzähle meinen Gästen die Geschichten meiner Heimatstadt und meines geliebten Landes. Geschichte hat mich schon immer fasziniert – wie Ereignisse Orte, Menschen und Kulturen geprägt haben – und es bereitet mir Freude, diese Geschichten für Besucher lebendig werden zu lassen. Durch meine Arbeit als Reiseleiter habe ich die Möglichkeit, Reisende aus aller Welt kennenzulernen. Jede Begegnung ist ein Austausch: Ich teile Namibias Geschichte und Traditionen und lerne gleichzeitig von den Perspektiven meiner Gäste. Mit der Zeit habe ich eine einfache Philosophie verinnerlicht: Das Leben führt uns genau dorthin, wo wir hingehören. Für mich ist dieser Ort hier – ich heiße Sie in Swakopmund willkommen und helfe Ihnen, seine Schönheit, Geschichte und seinen besonderen Geist zu entdecken.
Lorenzo was a great guide, friendly, passionate and super knowledgeable about Swakopmund's history. He gave us an in-depth tour of local landmarks along with his insights as a lifelong resident of the town, from the stories behind historic buildings to a climb up the local watch-tower, Damara tower. A morning well spent before heading off to Sossusvlei!
Lorenzo was a very good guide, smooth description of monuments and history (not a speech know by heart), and made special arrangements to visit the church and go up the tower that were very appreciated! Thank you
We had an excellent GuruWalk in Swakopmund with Lorenzo on Sunday morning. Walking through the city while discovering the different places, architecture, and fascinating history behind how Swakopmund was built made the experience truly special. Lorenzo knows an incredible amount about the city and shares everything in a very engaging and enjoyable way. It was the perfect Sunday morning stroll — relaxed, informative, and full of interesting stories and historical details.
