La Asociación de Turismo Alternativo, fundada por entusiastas en 2015, comenzó organizando cientos de "free tours" en Arad y posteriormente se expandió a Timișoara, atendiendo a miles de turistas, especialmente durante su año de Capital Europea de la Cultura. Además de los free tours, la asociación desarrolla con entusiasmo tours temáticos y a puerta cerrada para ayudar a los residentes de ambas ciudades a comprender mejor su patrimonio. Además, desempeña un papel clave en la mejora del turismo rumano mediante la formación y certificación de guías turísticos nacionales modernos.

Alex’s tour of Timisoara was informative, engaging and entertaining. I learned so much about my hometown, and it was really fun too! I was blown away by Alex’s knowledge and ability to tailor the tour to our interests, and also to adapt it for to having three littles ones with us. They had a great time too!
