The Summer Palace Walking Tour was my first walking tour with Roy. I did three walking tours with Roy during my stay in Beijing and loved every single one. Before the tour, Roy contacted me to ensure I would be able to find my way to the meeting point. On the day of the tour, Roy met me promptly at the meeting point and explained the different ticketing options I had at the entrance of the Summer Palace. As it was a low-tourism period, I was the only person on the tour, and I was super appreciative that Roy was still willing and enthusiastic about taking me on this tour. At the end of the tour, Roy suggested other walking routes around the Summer Palace. I took his advice and stayed at the Summer Palace until closing time. Not only did I get my steps in, but I also took some great photos and memories. Roy's engaging storytelling made time pass quickly. Although I initially planned to visit the Summer Palace alone, I'm glad I had Roy, as I learnt so much during the tour. This was one of the reasons I decided to book more than one walking tour with Roy. Also, Roy's English is pristine, and he communicated the vast history of the Summer Palace clearly and precisely. Book Roy's tour - you won't regret it.
I had an incredible experience on this walking tour in Beijing! Roy was the perfect guide—super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing Chinese history and culture. I learned so much throughout the tour, and he was always happy to answer all my questions. On top of that, he gave me countless recommendations for the rest of my stay, especially for local food, which made my trip even better. This tour gave me a much deeper understanding of Beijing and Chinese culture, and I couldn’t recommend it more. A must-do for anyone visiting!
