I noticed the tour may not have aligned with what you were looking for, and I understand that every traveler has different expectations and styles. ### But in fact, during the only 30 minutes you were on the tour (you left the tour after that), I made multiple attempts to create an engaging, conversational atmosphere by inviting your thoughts and encouraging dialogue, which is fundamental to how I run these small group experiences. When those attempts were met with responses that shut down conversation rather than opening it up, like the way I asked everyone, "What do you think..." and you said, "I don't think" only, it became very challenging to maintain the positive, welcoming environment that other travelers expect and deserve. ### This tour format relies on mutual engagement and respect between guide and travelers. My tours are designed to be interactive experiences where everyone participates in the exchange, not just passive listening. Many participants, including Pia, who was on your exact same tour, have found this interactive style enriching and enjoyable "Thanks Melody for an enjoyable and informative walk around Old Hanoi. I tried one of the recommended food places you sent and it was great 👍". ### I recognize that perhaps your expectations were different, or that this conversational approach simply wasn't what you were hoping for, and that's okay – but meaningful interaction does require participation from both sides.
