This was by far the most disappointing and time-wasting experience we’ve had on a walking tour. We booked in advance and even received a confirmation message from the guide. The tour description claims it “fills up fast” and offers “small groups for personalized attention,” but in reality, we were the only ones there—something that seems to happen often based on other reviews. Since it was scheduled for 1 PM, we rushed through our lunch to make it on time, only for the guide to immediately demand a mandatory payment of at least 30 euros before even starting. His excuse? That some people in the past had “scammed” him by not tipping. What is this logic? Anyway, that’s not how free walking tours work—they are tip-based and depend on the quality of the experience. This completely contradicts what he advertises in the description: “Free to Join (Tips Appreciated)”—which is clearly misleading. If he always intends to charge a fixed price, he should state it upfront rather than wasting people’s time. He could have told us in his messages beforehand, but instead, he waited until we were already there to spring this on us. When we explained that we had 20-25 euros and that this was not how free walking tours operate, he immediately canceled the tour. The tour description also promises local expertise, cultural insights, and even optional stops for local desserts, but none of that matters when the tour never actually happens. This guide is misleading travelers and should not even be on GuruWalk. If you’re looking for a real free walking tour in Prizren, don’t waste your time here—find another option.

Response from Muhamed
To anyone reading this, the review left by Linh Nguyen (Country: Belgium) is completely false and misleading. Here are the actual facts: 1. Late arrival: The group did not respect the scheduled time and arrived more than 20 minutes late, showing a lack of seriousness from the start. 2. Lack of engagement: During my brief and modest introduction to Prizren, they showed no motivation or interest. Instead, they just stood there looking confused, which negatively impacts the experience for everyone involved. 3. It Is NOT Their Job to Worry About Tour Reservations: My tour has consistently attracted groups of more than ten (10) participants, as seen in past photos. Whether others book or not is none of their concern. 4. Tour pricing and misleading claims: As clearly stated in the tour description, this is a tip-based tour, and the system typically suggests a minimum of 10€ and a maximum of 50€ per person. There is no such thing as a “completely free” tour - just like there is no “free food” or “free taxes”. I am a professional tour guide working to earn a living, not a volunteer willing to be dragged around the city for two hours without compensation by a bunch of children. 5. False claims about payment: They now claim they were willing to pay 20-25€, but in reality, they only offered 10€ - which is significantly lower. Misrepresenting this detail is just another example of their dishonest review. 6. Disrespect towards cultural rules: Due to their disrespectful and racist behavior regarding the cultural rules of certain religious monuments, I decided to cancel the tour and let them explore the city on their own. If they could “find any hidden gems” or hear “any secret stories locals won’t tell them”, as they sarcastically put it, then they were free to try. 7. Serial No-Show Offenders: These individuals have missed 3 out of their last 5 booked tours, proving a pattern of unreliable behavior. Such people should not be allowed to repeatedly misuse the system. 8. System error and false reviews: The GuruWalk system automatically marked the tour as completed at 13:01, instead of the actual time I ended it. This unfairly allowed these individuals to leave a misleading review. Prizren does not need childish and disrespectful tourists like them. This is not the first time tourists misunderstand how tip-based tours work or arrive with the wrong expectations. However, those who genuinely respect history, culture, and professionalism are always welcome on my tours. If you are looking for an authentic and memorable experience, I warmly invite you to join me - I look forward to showing you the best of our city!
