This was a great tour! Irvin is very knowledgable about Gjrokaster and Albania in general, and the information he gave me was very interesting. I was fortunate enough to have a tour to myself, and I was happy that he still ran the tour with only one customer, as I have had other tours cancel on me if there were not enough participants. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone visiting Gjrokaster.

This was such a great introduction to Gjirokaster. Eugene led us on a nice circuit through the city and even to a few spots I definitely would have missed on my own. He offered great storytelling and information the entire way and pointed me to some great restaurants and bars to check out in the city. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone interested in getting a sense of the city before they begin exploring it.

The tour is described as "leisurely", which it is. The tour lasts 2 1/4 hours, but at least 1.5 hours was spent climbing up to the castle, a steep hike, touring the castle, and getting back down. This left very little time for other stops or information on other topics. During the steep treks up and down, it was not really convenient for Klarens to provide much information, so I learned less about Gjirokaster than I had hoped. Klarens did a good job of guiding us through the castle, which is an amazing place. Although I was disappointed that the castle took so much of the tour time, I am glad I took the tour. I would not have been motivated to climb up to that castle on my own, and it is definitely worth getting up there.

This was a great tour of Gjirokaster. Irvin explained the history, local customs, present day information and lots of stories. And despite Gjirokaster being on a hill and famously having a lot of stairs, it never felt like too much walking or climbing. Would highly recommend!
