Evan was a fabulous guide for the civil war tour. It was extremely knowledgeable, very informative and interesting. I learnt a great deal about a subject which I thought I understood. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in recent Spanish history and how it has shaped Spain today.

This is an in-depth tour, and it was fascinating. It was another side of Barcelona I knew very little about.

Interesante el tour, detalles, recuerdos de una época que nadie quiere volver a vivir.

This is an excellent tour for those interested in the Spanish civil war. Henrietta was knowledgable & passionate about the subject & her explanations were clear & informative. She also shared recommendations of books & films on the subject. Very interesting.

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable on the history of the local area, the political background in Spain and Europe and the interplay between the various factions in the civil war. One of the best tours I had so far and even though I thought I knew a lot about the topic already I learned all lot. Furthermore the guide was able to answer every question about the local area and implications for the population up until today! Definitely make time for the tour

she has a great passion for the topic

Our guide was enthusiastic and his knowledge of the Spanish Civil War was excellent. His knowledge of the country’s history and background to the war was insightful, and we left with a better understanding of a complicated civil war.

It was a rainy day, but Yannis pivoted easily to an indoors location location and continued the tour. He is knowledgeable, well versed in the geopolitics and political world history , and he was able to draw parallels between Catalonia and Spain with many other context that really helped us understand the context for this important historical period in Spain and Europe. I highly recommend it, and would do it again because I’m sure that I would gain even more understanding the second time around. Well done!

Wealth of information about a little known conflict that had a big impact on the world and Evan really delivered with professionalism and personality. He kept the tour flowing and quickly adjusted as events from a local festival kind of got in the way. Well done and highly recommended.

Henrieta did a great job explaining the nuances of the politics and social factors of the civil war and its impact on today's Spain. It was very interesting to hear the Catalan perspective and understand a bit more about their fight for independence.

We booked this tour through Guru Walk which I had read about in The Times. Our guide Henrieta was highly knowledgeable about Spanish history putting lots of context around the circumstances and reasons for the workers rising and through the key moments of the Spanish Civil War through to the death of Franco and the subsequent transition back to a democracy and the challenges that presented. I cannot recommend this tour and Henrietta highly enough. An excellent way to understand the history of Spain, Europe and Barcelona and to see a lot of the city.

Henrietta was very informative & it was different from the regular walking tour, the history about the Spanish rebellion that is still ongoing today in Barcelona

La guerra civile spagnola e la dittatura franchista

Great walking tour. Lots covered, but done in a very interesting way. Highly recommend.

La guerra civile spagnola e la dittatura franchista

Balanced, informative and factual account of what happened. I now understand why the full account is missing from the museums, Spain is not ready for the truth

La guerra civile spagnola e la dittatura franchista

Tour muy interesante y extremadamente bien documentado. Un poco mas largo que otros free tours, pero merece absolutamente la pena.
