Miguel provided a very informative tour of the small and grand places of social emancipation in Barcelona with links to international history. The tour really profited from his extensive research into feminist and working class history and contemporary social movements. I also found it very pleasant to have some nice chats during the tour. If you are looking for a tour outside the trotten paths, are interested to hear about the good, the bad and the ugly of Barcelona and how people tried to improve their lives through a centuries of strive, this is the tour for you. Along the way were several quiet spots that are also very well suited for resting tired feet within a few meters of central spots, like the Placa da Catalunya. A real gem of a guided tour.

The Franco & Spanish Civil War tour is not to be missed. Highly recommend. The very professional and knowledgeable guide detailed all aspects of the war were discussed. Also included the how the Catholic Church at the time influenced the Spanish. We saw many sites within short walking distances.

Amazing experience to learn valuable pieces of information about the anarchist revolution and the catalan social movements. Miguel was both incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He also was really generous with his time, answering our questions with precision and wit. One of my favorite tour ever!

Henrieta did an excellent guided tour! She was nice, friendly, and very well-informed, with deep knowledge of the topic. Her rhetoric was very good, and we were very pleased to listen to her and follow her through history.

Ha sido un tour totalmente diferente lleno de información sobre la historia en la que en cada parada siempre existían datos claves que iban enlazándose con la historia anterior y daban explicación del porque se había dado tal dato o el porque había pasado tal y tal cosa, todo el tour fue muy interesante y entretenido, a parte el Guru Miguel es muy apasionado en lo que va contando, super amable y en todo momento con una sonrisa.

Highly recommend this tour which is very focussed on a specific time in the history of Spain. Our guide presented the Spanish Civil War history in a really engaging way. I've done other walking tours in Barcelona and Spain but this helped me better understand the psychological complexity of the country and the people. Our guide, Henrieta, is one of the best guides I've had and thank her for her engagement and what she brings to us as tourists.

If you're going to take one tour in Barcelona, let it be this one. I wanted to understand more about the history of anarchism in this city and how it all came to a head during the Spanish Civil War, and boy did Miguel deliver! His knowledge is impressive, and you can really see the research that went into the tour's contents and itinerary, leading you through the working class neighborhood of Raval with many hidden gems and places that have shaped the history of political struggles in Barcelona. Particularly rare is the level of nuance and explanation about the processes of socioeconomic development in the city since the Renaissance to the modern age, so when it gets to discussing the 20th century you have a solid overview of what has led to those events. I also appreciated the attention given to the women's role in the local anarchist movement, something that often gets overlooked. All in all, impressive quality and a lot of learning in a relatively brief time, but without it ever feeling overwhelming. I doubt you'd find anything even comparable in the "mainstream" tours. And on top of that, Miguel is a lovely guy, fun, considerate and with great passion for what he does. ¡Gracias Miguel y hasta siempre!

I really enjoyed this tour. It’s full of historical detail. It’s more of a history lesson than a walking tour, mainly because there aren’t a lot of sites relating to the Spanish Civil War. Henrietta was very knowledgeable and her English is excellent. I would highly recommend it to history buffs or those curious about the conflict.

Very good tour where you can learn a lot that otherwise you definitely going to miss as Spaniards try not to remember their time with a dictator. That is why you don't find much about it anywhere in the city, which really is a shame. So glad we went on the tour even so it is sometimes hard to hear what happened.

This was an extremely thoughtful and insightful tour run by a very knowledgeable guide. I would recommend for anyone interested in learning more about the topic and in an environment where you were very welcome to answer questions on a complex topic.

I really enjoyed the tour a lot, it was very informative and illuminating and Yannis was extremely knowledgeable. We visited many interesting locations and Yannis was able to answer all our questions. I especially appreciated how he was able to link the history of Spain with contemporary issues and conflicts and to lay emphasis on the fact that teaching history is never only about teaching history, but also about anticipating the future. Definitely recommend this tour a lot despite the heavy topic! It’ll give you a better understanding of Barcelona and Spain in general.
