Es un tour excelente para conocer parte de la historia que no siempre se cuenta de Barcelona. Miguel tiene un conocimiento profundo sobre la Guerra Civil Española y cuenta esa historia y sus prolegómenos de forma simple y entretenida. Es un tour muy completo y balanceado entre anécdotas históricas de la izquierda social y hechos relevantes que muestran la "otra Barcelona", su cooperativismo y las historias de las personas y organizaciones que participaron en su construcción. ¡Lo recomendamos ampliamente!

Yannis is a funny and knowledgeable guide. Although it is a controversial topic for Spain, he clearly explained the historical facts including recapture of some political concepts. It was impressive to see the historical spots regarding the civil war. Recommended the tour for the ones who like the culture and history. Besides, it would be nice to recap the facts about the siege of Barcelona in 1714 to better understand the city’s history.

Chrisa is a very knowledge and passionate guide! Her experience with modern Archaeology and the politics of memory make her a brilliant choice to lead this important and relevant tour. She was sensitive to the history and contemporary impacts of the history of the war, and could answer nearly every question with a level of detail that kept the tour going and satisfied the curious. Chrisa reacted to hectic events in Barcelona well, and adapted the tour to suit the circumstances-- very much recommend her tour.

Very interesting tour lots of information would have been good to build in some stops on the way but all in all very enjoyable would recommend

We really enjoyed this tour of the revolutionary history of Barcelona. We got to learn about a lot of important points we had walked past but didn't know the history. This is the only free tour I've found that includes the Raval, one of the original areas of Barcelona and key point of leftist resistance. If you're interested in this history, leading up to the Spanish Civil War, it is highly recommended.

Excellent tour providing significant depth and background on the 1936-39 war. Expect content covering:- Background of the 2nd Republic Prevailing social discontent. Alignment of Monarchy, Church & Military. The Left’s alliance of the willing (but entirely ill-suited parties). The impact of the Anarchists (who fully lived up to their name). How the uprising in Barcelona started & how it ended. A really balanced assessment from Evan which benefitted from pan-European context (so many similarities). Thoroughly recommended - hugely thought provoking.

I did a 3-hour tour in April 2026 and it was fantastic! The tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and took the time to answer all of my questions thoughtfully. I walked away with a much deeper understanding of the history of Barcelona and Spain. I especially appreciated learning things I never would have heard on a typical tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Barcelona.

Miguel took us on a full-circle journey through the history of social movement, solidarity, and revolution in Barcelona. From the 1936 to the 1500’s and back he showed us how the people of Barcelona have been organizing since forever and how, through the cycles of history, the seeds of hope which com from that persist. He is very knowledgeable and confident in the subject and has a calm but well paced and engaging way of explaining and telling the story. He took us to places we wouldn’t see or wouldn’t know the full extent of the history otherwise. I leave Barcelona with newfound knowledge and respect for it’s history and it’s people. 2 1/2 hours flew by! Highly reccomend!
