Outstanding. Had done a walk with Evan the previous day (which was excellent) and wanted to learn more. As Evan says this tour is more a lecture than a walk - however his knowledge and passion for the topic is fantastic and he managed to package a complex mosaic of cultural, social and political into a coherent and compelling story. Very informative and detailed tour!

This is one of the best walking tours I've ever taken, both in terms of the quality of the information provided, as well as the layout of the tour itself. We covered a lot of ground, both literally and figuratively, but the walking never felt tiring, and the length of the tour passed quickly because the content was so interesting. Evan is a top-notch tour guide and provided a lot of context and information about the Spanish Civil War that I had not been familiar with. I highly recommend this tour!

Evan told us about Barcelona during the Spanish Civil War with great passion. He also put it in the context of the city, Spain, and the world in the years before, so we could really understand how it happened and how it led to the current political situation. He did this in a nuanced, yet clear and concise way — not easy to do during a short walking tour. Evan guided us through the city, connecting his stories to the places we visited. He was also very open to questions from our group and gave detailed answers. He is a passionate and professional storyteller with a mission to keep history alive and remind us of what happened, so we can better understand the present. If you want to take home a deeper understanding of Barcelona and Spain’s history, this tour is highly recommended!

Fenomenal Tour with Evan! Expertly explained, supporting media to help understand (photos, posters, written excerpts) and time to ask questions. Having done other civil war related tours / museum and bunker visits, this really helps puttings everything together.

We were a bit unlucky with the weather as it started to rain heavily about 30 min into our tour. Yannis handled it wonderfully and while we had to skip a few stops to take refuge in a cafe, the tour remained engaging, enjoyable and very instructive! Highly recommended!

It was exactly what I was hoping for. Very thorough and did not seem to have any bias. He answered everyone’s questions patiently. Perfect for those interested in this unfortunate time in history and how it still affects Spain today. He adjusted our tour during very rainy weather.
