Ciao!
Ono’s tour was truly special. Ono had such a unique way of sharing stories. He is very smart and every detail felt intentional, poetic, and almost dreamlike. His storytelling brought Kyoto’s history and culture to life in a way that was both inspiring and soothing to listen to. He also a calm and thoughtful presence that made the experience feel personal. I also appreciated his attention to the group. He was always polite, kind, and respectful, making sure everyone felt comfortable and engaged. He also gave amazing recommendations for hidden cafés and local spots, some of which I visited later and absolutely loved. Thanks to him, my time in Kyoto was magical. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough - it’s not just informative, it’s truly an experience for the soul. Thank you!
The tour was very nice, full of interesting facts! Ono answered for every question and provided us additional recommendations regarding the places to visit, restaurants, and hidden gems 😊 I really recommend this tour!
My wife and I absolutely loved this tour. It didn’t feel like a typical guided walk at all; more like spending a few hours with a local friend who knows all the city’s quiet secrets. From the start, everything felt calm, unhurried, and genuine. Ono had such a thoughtful way of sharing Kyoto’s history: not through dates or facts, but through stories, small details, and observations that made the city feel alive. We walked through Ponto-chō, along the Kamogawa river, through Gion and the old shrines, and somehow each place felt different once we understood its meaning. We also really appreciated the personal touches: the small group size, the easy conversation, and the list of hidden cafés and local spots he sent us afterward. It felt like he truly cared about helping us see Kyoto beyond the usual tourist path. By the end, we both felt peaceful and inspired. It’s one of those experiences that stays with you: quiet, sincere, and full of heart. If you want to really feel Kyoto rather than just see it, this tour is perfect.
Really interesting tour with a lovely local guide Ono. We learnt so much and saw a lot of great places. He even sent us links afterwards with recommendations. Lovely guy, great tour.
