Gabriel is a passionate and pleasant guide. He seems to know his Mayan history. He shares that history without bitterness or hostility. His cultural pride is balanced with personal humility. I would like to have a few locations in between his planned sites explained as we were walking from stop to stop. He recommended a few quality spots to eat and to enjoy local cuisine and entertainment. I highly recommend attending Gabriel’s walk and taking at least 2 other walks to get a well-rounded feel for and understanding of Merida.

Fantastic history tour of Merida. Covers lots of time periods and includes visits inside interesting buildings. The guide was friendly and engaging. Recommend the evening tour when it is cooler.
