Stone Town, Mercato delle Spezie, Storia e Architettura

We enjoyed the 9am tour with Nassor. It took around 1h30 and we were happy with the pace and number of stops. It included all of what we expected to see - most of the main historical buildings and you will see the edge of new town and the market. This part was nice because it is less touristy so you can admire the architecture without having to try to look beyond 1000x the same souvenirs shop. Be aware you do not really enter any sites/buildings due to entry cost or renovations (other than the market), so you just see them from the street. It's not the most detailed tour, but I'm sure Nassor would give more detail if requested as he answered all of our extra questions on the way (mostly about present day Zanzibar life). Thank you Nassor!

This tour is not for everyone. It involves going to some very isolated places with obstacles along the path. Our guide was very knowledgeable and good at talking about the places we passed along the way.

Excellent and informative guide! Was well paced through the busy streets of Stone Town and even got to see the craziness of the local markets and try some local candies (our guide even provided some shillings). Very much enjoyed the experience!

Mohammed was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. His English is great. I learned a lot about Zanzibar and we also chatted about other interesting topics like soccer since I was the only one on the tour. Would recommend him.

Nassor was a great guide despite the fact that it heavily rained at the beginning of the tour. He extended the tour so that we were able to see all the stops. He also gave us a recommendation for a local lunch spot nearby which was really tasty and cheap! I can highly recommend the tour with Nassor! Asante sana

Nassor did a great job for what turned out to be a very wet walking tour. He has a wealth of information about Stone Town and answered all our questions, all while showing us around the windy streets and alleyways.
