Knowledgeable and very opinionated tour The was very good, but was very biased with Jasper's opinions. He had a lot of historical knowledge but as a tourist off of a cruise ship we would have liked to have looked at the beauty of the city more and got some background on some of the gorgeous buildings rather than the political views and the occupations from different Nations. The tour was more like a university lecture rather than a tourists day out to enjoy your beautiful city. Our mistake, perhaps that was explained in the Blurb and we didn't read it before we went, I don't know.

Mihail es un tipo estupendo que empezó un poco distante por ser un grupo muy grande, pero acabó ganándose nuestra simpatía. Nos dio mucha información interesante y nos hizo conocer de pe a pa el centro histórico de Riga. Es letón, y para nosotros eso es mucho mejor que tener de guía a un español o a un latinoamericano que lleve tres o cinco o siete años en el lugar y lo vea a través de su cultura. Mihail habla un español estupendo a excepción de contados problemas con el subjuntivo, los artículos y la posición del acento de alguna palabra. Vamos: que se expresa perfectamente, se le entiende todo y es capaz de expresarse con fluidez y con los matices necesarios para enseñarte la ciudad y que aprendas un montón. Buen trabajo, Mihail! Y mucha suerte en el futuro para tu país y para la vida en tu preciosa ciudad!

The tour was very informative and provided a good, concise overview of all aspects (culture, history, daily life, politics, etc.) of Latvia. I would have liked to hear more personal insights, including on current issues. I got the impression that the guide was just going through the topics without expressing an opinion, and it didn’t feel very personal.
