This one if the best tours in San Francisco. We loved every moment spent with our wonderful guide, Greg. He is outstanding in attitude, sense of humor, and professionalism, with lots of knowledge about the Haight- Ashbury neighborhood, its unique history, fascinating stories of the singers and bands that lived there, and the houses that they lived in. Very highly recommended!!!

Greg was a fantastic raconteur who crammed the tour with lots of interesting information and stories. He really went above and beyond to help everyone really enjoy the experience. And as well as taking photos along the way which he sent on to us, he even gave us each a stamped postcard to send to someone at home!

Amazing tour- I’ve been to San Francisco many times but never learned 1/10 of what I learned in this tour- Filip was so knowledgeable and passionate it was infectious- Would not miss this tour!!!!!

The guided tour with Greg was absolutely amazing! He has an incredible amount of knowledge about music, thanks to his experience as a radio host, and he brings so much insight into pop culture and the stories behind the places you visit. His videos on the tablet were a fantastic addition and really helped bring his stories to life by creating the perfect background for his explanations. Greg is also such a kind and friendly person, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A truly memorable tour — highly recommended!

Britt mixed humor with historical knowledge and was friendly and approachable. The starting spot can be difficult to find, it is directly across the traffic light. The tour included some interesting places too. My wife and I liked that Britt stayed away from tourist spots and other tourist groups. Britt had good control of the group and made sure the group caught up to his pace. We are overall satisfied with Britt.

David provided a phenomenal tour. He is so knowledgeable and shares history that will make you think. He is also gracious. The tour involves walking and hills. One guest in our group had some mobility challenges, but David was patient throughout.

Die Tour war sehr informativ. Wir haben viel über die Geschichte von SF gelernt. Britt war sehr lustig und nett. Er hat alle Fragen beantwortet. Die Sehenswerten Orte waren sehr gut ausgewählt. Am besten fand ich das Parkgaragendeck. Die Tour dauerte 2:15 Stunden. Ich hätte noch 2 Stunden gehen können. Vielen Dank!!!

The Essential San Francisco Tour

This was an excellent tour! It was clearly evident that Greg had spent a lot of time researching the history of Haight-Ashbury during the 1960's and the your was full of history, fun and educational, complete with audio recordings and pictures. I would definitely recommend the tour, especially with Greg! Thank you Greg!!!

This tour was great. Saw lots of interesting things, our tour guide Britt was a great story teller with tonnes of local knowledge and recommended a great place for lunch we visited after. Highly recommend doing this if you visit San Francisco !

Hidden Staircases of SF was a great experience for the whole family! We had kids as young as 58 and as old of 14 and everyone was engaged and appreciated the tour. Little things - fast facts, inside jokes, etc. - from the tour came up for the rest of the weekend get-away and I'm so grateful this was something the whole family did together! Highly recommend!

The tour was an outstanding experience, and Phillip is an exceptionally professional guide! I've taken around 20 guided tours around the world, and this one easily ranks among my top three. Phillip has a real talent for storytelling. He doesn't just present historical facts—he connects causes and effects across different events, making the city's history both engaging and easy to understand. What impressed me the most was the parallel he drew between the Gold Rush prospectors of the 19th century and today's entrepreneurs. It was a fascinating perspective, and it's a story I'll remember for a long time. A fantastic way to spend a few hours—I highly recommend this tour!
