Discovering the Secrets of Santiago's Historic Center

Santiago de Cuba is one of the oldest cities in Cuba. Its more than 500 years offer us a wealth of history and anecdotes that make us unique. In our city, you can visit one of the oldest houses in America, inhabited by Diego Velázquez, a Spanish conqueror and founder of our town. A visit to the first museum library founded in Cuba in 1899 by Don Emilio Bacardí, the mayor of Santiago de Cuba, is also a must. In this wonderful museum, we will find museum pieces dating from the time of the first inhabitants of our island to the contemporary era. Personal objects of the main leaders of our wars of independence and a rich collection of Cuban and international art. Santiago de Cuba was the cradle of the July 26th Movement, a revolutionary movement led by Fidel Castro Ruz that put an end to the Batista tyranny. To better understand its history, we will visit the Museum of the Clandestine Struggle and the Moncada Barracks, in addition to making a small stop at a humble house where Fidel Castro lived during his childhood while studying in our city. Throughout the tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the best views to take your best photos, as well as to converse and share opinions with your host. It is a tour about the history and traditions of Santiago. I hope you can choose us and that we will soon be discovering together the secrets of my Santiago.
