Hi! My name is Eladi, I'm a very curious guy, I love to travel and meet new people. I'm in love with Barcelona and with my neighborhood, Poblenou. My friends always tell me that I should be a tour guide because I love history, urbanism, anecdotes and traditions. So here I am! I would like visitors to discover more neighborhoods than those in the city guides. That's why I would like to show you one of my favorites districts: Poblenou. Would you like to come with me?
Take a walk through the history and the coolest places of Poblenou. A neighborhood in front of the sea with an industrial past and a very modern future. A district witness of the workers movement which nowadays, certainly is, the most creative and artistic neighborhood in Barcelona.
Its streets are full of old factories and chimneys now transformed into artist's studios, design schools and lofts. But Poblenou it's also a very popular neighborhood, with little streets, plazas a marvelous rambla and a lot of traditions.
What are we going to see?
- 22@ district, full of contemporary architecture like Agbar Tower or Media TIC.
- Old factories transformed into new facilities like Can Framis or Can Felipa.
- Spaces of the workers movement like the old Cooperative Pau i Justícia, transformed into a theatre (Sala Beckett).
- La Rambla del Poblenou.
- The old fisherman's neighborhood.
In front of the main entrance of Museu del Disseny (Design Museum). I'll have a black folder with me.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
