Free Night Tour with "Mysterious Tarraco"

The tour lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes
Available in Spanish

Description

If you have enjoyed your visit to Tarragona during the day and are already familiar with the Roman aspect of the city, the night will offer revelations that can only be discovered by the light of the moon. In this tour, we will talk about history and stories.

Discover the most mysterious side of Tarragona thanks to its stories and legends, as you walk through its charming and secret-filled streets. Many of them are based on real events, while others are part of the city's imagination.

Are you brave?

**Attention!** This tour is not suitable for very sensitive people or very young children.

We will start at the famous and emblematic Balcón del Mediterráneo, where we will "touch iron" in front of the Mediterranean Sea to bring us good luck before starting the tour.
We will need it.

From the Paseo de las Palmeras, we will see the Roman Amphitheater and talk about the famous gladiator fights and other spectacles that took place there.

In the Plaça del Fórum, we will visit two "friends" and talk about Roman festivals.

From the Plaça del Antic Escorxador (Old Slaughterhouse), we will view the Tower of Souls where we will discuss the work related to death that the Tablero performed in that tower.

At the Portal del Carro, we will talk about the "path to hell" that 150 women suffered as they were transferred from the "Prison of Pilate" (Tower of the Pretori), which we will also see, to the convent of "les Oblates" during the Francoist repression.
We will also tell the story of the co-patron of our city with the help of a mural: Sant Magí.

As we walk above what was the city's old cemetery, we will be able to see the majestic bell tower of the Cathedral of Santa Tecla in all its splendor. We will also visit the entrance to one of the city's air raid shelters, located under the Biblical Museum.

Did you know there was a giant in Tarragona? And that the rats have their own procession in the city?

We will visit Carolina at the Castellarnau House, where her sad story will be revealed.

When we reach the Old Audience, we will explain how Tarragona was one of the last cities where an execution by garrote vil was carried out, and it did not go too well.

Stories about witchcraft, exorcisms, supernatural beings, and ghosts from specific streets will help us delve into the darkest and most sinister side that this city has known.

Dare to discover it and let the magic of Tarragona intoxicate you!
