Tour description

Nestled in the patchwork foothills of magnificent Kilimanjaro lies the beautiful village of Materuni, home to our Chagga friends and famous for its aromatic, rich coffee. On this fragrant and fun day out you’ll get a chance to make your own cup of coffee the proper way and you’ll find out the secret to the perfect cup of coffee from the local Chagga people. Next you’ll hike the short but challenging route to the Materuni Falls and you can stand under the waters as they cascade into a tranquillity pool that’s safe for bathing. And you’ll want to jump straight in – after getting sweaty (ok, glowing!) from your hike, there’s nothing more soothing than floating in the cool waters. Enjoy your packed lunch before or after your swim – there are no rules! Later on our way back will have a quick bus town tour before we finish the tour NB- Please note that there are entry fees which is $15 per person which you will pay directly to village authority

This is the first time around the work Ld that guruwalk.com wasn’t a fabulous experience for us! After I called Albert when we had already been waiting 20 minutes, he told me he was on his way. After another 15 minutes we left the meeting place because it was getting really warm. As we were walking away he phoned me saying he had now arrived, but by then we felt frustrated and didn’t feel like going with him.

Albert is a very easygoing, fun and an amazing guide. The information provided was transparent & accurate. We had an amazing day on the tour (despite some crazy rain :) and would recommend Albert at all times. He knows the area and the people very well and is flexible on how to organize your tour!

Albert wasn’t free in thus day, but he sent a friend of him (Suleiman), he was simply a great guy, friendly, respectful, knowledgeable and trustworthy, we spent together almost all the day, he took me to several attractions and was so patient to me, took me photos also, and we had lunch in a lokal restaurant together, I wish meet him again when I come back. Thank you Suleiman and Albert.

I highly highly recommend Albert and his tour. The scenery in itself was already worth the trip, and Albert has been a great tour guide. Being a local here, he understands the local farming practices and the cultural background of the local Chagga people. He is highly knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I get to learn a lot from this experience. If you want to see the excellent nature scene other than Kilimanjaro while learning about the local area, Albert should be your go-to!

We had booked a tour with Albert but his wife was sick. But he provided another tour guide in good time who picked us from our hotel and was punctual, friendly and respectful. The guide was readily available to accommodate our needs and interests. We had a good time at the hot springs and waterfalls in Moshi. I would definitely recommend booking a tour with Albert and his tour guide friend.
