Free Tour discovers the history of Bariloche
Tour description
The proposal places us in what is today San Carlos de Bariloche .
Yesterday the Nahuel Huapi region, an area of glacial geography close to the Andes Mountains.
Meeting area where those from here and those from there transferred cultural elements and materials, giving rise to Vurilofche , today called Bariloche , the most visited city in Argentine Patagonia.
Our tour focuses on the 20th century and the commercial power in the region.
What did they trade? What route did they use?
We will look for answers in the European legacy of Bariloche , discovering along the way buildings that still bear witness to this lumbering era. We will see the most relevant buildings made since the creation of the National Park without overlooking the stories and legends of the people.
During the Tour of “the Patagonian jewel” we will learn about the great evolution that Bariloche experienced , from being a town to become one of the main tourist destinations in Argentina.
On the guided tour we begin walking along the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi, making geolocation and presenting the lake in numbers. Then, with the eyes of the architects who created it, we will see the Civic Center and the National Park administration with a brief walk through its gardens and then get to know the Bariloche Andean Club and the surrounding buildings that bear witness to the town that was and the secrets it hides.
Up the hill we go to the neighborhood where the suspicions of neighbors closely linked to National Socialism were confirmed. Then there are winding streets and stairs that lead us to the neo-Gothic Cathedral . The temple was designed by Alejandro Bustillo , one of the most prominent Argentine architects of the first half of the 20th century. We tour the center. I'll give you the best gastronomic recommendations.
