Once upon a time, a village, a virgin, a flag - BANUR (Monument to the Flag, Plaza 25 de Mayo and Urquiza Park)
Tour description
Origin of the City, Monument to the Flag, Plaza 25 de Mayo, and Parque Urquiza (BANUR).
Welcome to Rosario! We are going to explore its history, focusing on what we Argentinians love: political rivalries, the "feud" between cities, historical gossip, and that spirit of progress that characterizes us.
We combine the origins of the city and its transformations, along with Parque Urquiza, a green space full of life and stories!
Throughout the 2 and a half hours of the tour, you will have the opportunity to learn about:
- Monument to the Flag and its hero.
- Origins of the city, from Plaza 25 de Mayo, surrounded by emblematic buildings, such as the Cathedral, the Palace of the Lions, the Post Office Building, Odilo and Firma Estévez Museum, La Bola de Nieve.
- Barrio Martín and the Yerbatera that gave the area its name.
- Parque Urquiza and its corners:
- Batteries.
- Sports, recreational, and cultural circuits for all ages.
- Western Santafesino Railway Station.
- Planetarium and Science Museum.
- Municipal Amphitheater.
