Free Tour Sanlúcar de Barrameda: Gateway to America.

At the scheduled time, we'll begin our free tour of Sanlúcar de Barrameda in the central Plaza del Cabildo.

After a brief introduction, we will walk past the old Town Hall and talk about Las Covachas , a 16th-century market now converted into the Manzanilla Museum .

We'll continue the route past the Orleans-Borbón Palace , a beautiful 19th-century building that now houses the Sanlúcar City Hall. Nearby, we'll see the exterior of the Ducal Palace of Medina Sidonia , declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1978.

The next stop will be in front of the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la O. Did you know it's the oldest church in Sanlúcar? Its origins date back to 1360, when it was founded by Isabel de la Cerda Guzmán , granddaughter of Guzmán el Bueno.

After learning about its history, we will head to the Monument to the First Circumnavigation , where Juan Sebastián Elcano will be the protagonist of this feat that began and ended on the coast of Sanlúcar.

Finally, after a walking tour of approximately an hour and a half, we'll conclude the tour by strolling through the cobblestone streets, surrounded by wineries and the aroma of manzanilla, until we reach the Castle of Santiago , where we'll admire this imposing fortress from the outside. We'll also discover the connection this bastion holds with Isabella the Catholic .

❗ Note : Entrance fees and visits to the interior of private monuments such as the Parish Church of Our Lady of the O, the Ducal Palace of Medina Sidonia, the Castle of Santiago, among others, are not included.
