Free Tour - Comillas: modernist, maritime, and cinematic!
Tour description
Throughout this one hour and 20-minute tour, we will stroll through the picturesque streets of Comillas, the Village of the Archbishops while enjoying its most emblematic monuments such as La Fuente Tres Caños, Casa Ocejo, the Sobrellano Palace, Gaudí's Caprice, and the Pontifical University.
We will visit these magnificent places while discovering their history. We will see the house where King Alfonso XII stayed. Did you know that Comillas was the capital of Spain for a day?
I will show you a sculpture that had to be relocated because it didn't fit in the place it was intended to be. Let's see who is the first on the tour to discover it!
We will see all the details of Gaudí's Caprice, as well as its relationship with music and why there are so many sunflowers on the facade.
We will find two hidden figures in the entrance gate of the University and I will explain why they are there.
We will continue towards the cemetery where we have an amazing story to tell you, but first, we will give a brief overview of the history of Comillas with cinema.
In Comillas, 24 movies have been filmed, and we will pass by some of the locations where they were shot. I will also tell you that I have participated in the filming of 4 of them. Comillas is so beautiful that film directors shoot their movies in our town since 1935.
Come and get to know this seaside village with me!
