My name is Jan and I'm from Český Krumlov. I like nature, sports, black humor and of course beer. I grew up in Český Krumlov and studied humanities and anthropology at Charles University in Prague. After short stays abroad in the USA and New Zealand, I returned home and have been working as a guide for 7 years. Discover Český Krumlov on a free walking tour, learn about its unique history and see places you would normally miss.
In just 2 hours, you will:
- See the Renaissance centre of Český Krumlov and learn about the town's history from local guides. Learn how local nobles got rich, why the town survived centuries or why carps (fish) were important for us
- Visit the second-largest castle in the Czech Republic, see real bears in the castle bear moat and admire 16th-century paintings on the castle walls
- See the most beautiful places in the town - including 2 best viewpoints in Český Krumlov and medieval picturesque crooked streets
- Get insider tips on what to do and see after your tour. You'll know what attractions are worth visiting, what restaurants to visit and what beer to drink!
The Český Krumlov Free Tour takes place daily at 10:30 AM and 2 PM in the main square of Český Krumlov. Look for a tour guide in a red t-shirt holding a red umbrella.
