My name is Jan and I'm from Český Krumlov. I like nature, sports, black humor and of course beer. I grew up in Český Krumlov and studied humanities and anthropology at Charles University in Prague. After short stays abroad in the USA and New Zealand, I returned home and have been working as a guide for 7 years. I really like the history of my city and I am most fascinated by the history of the 20th century. Feel free to ask me anything from local history - but then expect a long answer :)

We were glad we chose to do this tour! We do walking tours in every new city we go to, but since Cesky Krumlov is such a small place, we wondered if it would be worthwhile. But despite the town's petite size, there was still a lot to learn! Jan had very extensive knowledge about Cesky Krumlov and wider Czech history, he imparted so much information in the time that we had. The personal stories were also a very appreciated touch -- it always helps when what you're learning is anchored by lived experience.
