Hi, I'm Monika! I am a Medical student at the University of Paris. I have a polish background but I grew up in Paris and still study here up until today. I'm passionate about Paris and its history because it's a city you never finish experiencing! No matter what age you are, nor what type of traveller you are, you can always find something exciting for you here. I'd be happy to show you around, and give you all my tips, from my personal best walks/spots to hidden gems to make you want to come back again (or stay longer :p)! (Dzien dobry nazywam sie Monika jestem studentka medycyny w Paryzu i z przyjemnoscia was po Montmartre poprowadze :) )
Looking for a mix of history, architecture, fun facts, and amazing views? This tour is for you! We will be visiting 3 neighborhoods: the lesser known but romantic New Athens(🟠), then Pigalle(🟢), and Montmartre(🟣).
🟠The tour will start with some Napoleonic vibes with a short visit to the Church of the Holy Trinity and the Square Etiennes d'Orves. We will then continue our journey through the XIXth century in the street Blanche with the Théâtre de Paris while coming across the picturesque Blanche fire station.
(🟢)We will then arrive in front of the vibrant Moulin Rouge, come across the place that used to be the Le Chat Noir cabaret, and end up at the famous Bouillon Pigalle.
(🟣)We will then start our walk to Montmartre through the street Houdon to arrive at the Place des Abesses, see the Church of Saint John, and the I Love you wall. We will continue our ascent with the Bateau Lavoir residence followed by Dalida's house, the Galette's Windmill, and the Passe-Muraille statue. We will then travel back in time to antiquity with the Saint-Denis statue and see the avenue Junot, a key avenue in the history of Montmartre. We will come back to the XXth century with Dalida's statue, the "Emily in Paris" famous Pink House, and the vine grapes of the Clos Montmartre.
We will finish our tour with Place du Tertre, the square of artists and painters, and the Sacré Coeur Basilica with an amazing view of Paris as a reward for this intense visit.
The tour will start in front of the Square Etienne d'Orves, right next to the subway station Trinité-Etienne d'Orves. I will wear a grey beret.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
