Yerevan Free Walking Tour; MAIN TOUR
Tour description
This is the original, first free walking tour in Yerevan.
We started doing this tour 12 years ago and it's constantly improved and updated.
The Main Tour of Yerevan was created from scratch, based on the concept of free, tip-based tours around the world and offered a new understanding on walking tours in Yerevan.
The itinerary was changed a few times and was perfected during the years. It covers around 20 points of interest in the center of Yerevan, plus detailed info about history, art, cuisine, religion, language, architecture, current affairs, the transport system, where to eat, drink and party, cultural and night life, etc. It takes you to the main sites as well as to back alleys and hidden places, telling you stories and fun facts about our 2808-year-young-city and its people.
We go to sites like:
- Republic Square
- Fountains and parks
- The historic Hanrapetutyan and Abovyan Streets
- The Northern Avenue
- The New Old Town of Yerevan
- The Opera and Freedom Square
- The Cascade (we don't go up the stairs)
- 19th century backyards
- Hidden alleys and buildings.
- Vernissage Market
- The Metro
- A historic church
- The Khachkar Park.
- and MANY MORE SECRET PLACES...
At the meeting point look for the guide with our orange logo lanyard badge.
We DON'T use umbrellas, tshirts, flags, etc.
Pls find the meeting point by following the pin point on the map, NOT the address of the Marriott. It is not inside the hotel. It's near the parking lot, in front of the main entrance to the hotel, on Republic Square.
The tour lasts around 3 hours, walking around 3 km.
This tour is not suitable for the elderly and babies, toddlers with or without strollers and children under ten. As for older children; you decide if your child can so it. And pls remember that there are other people on the tour too.
Only foreign travelers can join the tour.
We do the tour if we have at least 5 people.
We reserve the right for admission.
See you soon :)
