Hello and Namaste! my name is Manoj Thapa. I am from Kathmandu, Nepal. I am 29 Years old, and a licensed tourist guide. I’m passionate about my work and I know how to bring it to fruition. I would describe myself as an open-hearted and straightforward person who doesn’t believe in deceiving other people and tries to be legitimate in everything I do. My work as a tour guide is to lead groups of tourists or individuals through historical sites, museums, geographic destinations, and outdoor excursions. However, I not only see myself as a person dedicated to my work but also, I never forget to connect it with love, I have for my work and undoubtedly, I allow this love to reflect on the journey, I will have with my guests. I am confident in my knowledge of Nepalese history, culture, traditions, heritages, and religions. I will be helping my guests to get a detailed understanding of the sites we will explore. I hope to see you soon on our tour. Thank you

Tour description

We will choose the inner route walk from Thamel to Kathmandu Durbar Square.

We will explore Asan Bazar in between, which was the trading point of Nepal , India and Tibet from the medieval period.

Market offers varieties of goods that are transported from the Himalayan region. And there, we can see the old-structured temples and stupas.

The food items that we will taste:

1. Momo(Dumpling) ,Rs. 200-350 per plate.

2. Yomari(Newari sweet bread),Rs. 50 per piece.

3. Lassi(a blend of yoghurt, water and spices),           Rs 100-150 per glass.

4. Bara(thick bread made up of black lentil), Rs 100-150 per piece

5. Selroti(sweet bread made of flour)
Rs.30-50  per peice

6. Laphing (Noodle dish in Tibetan cuisine)

7. Various non-veg items served in Nepali style.

Manoj took us to some great local spots to try some interesting Nepali food. He catered the tour to what we wanted to try, offering suggestions at each stop. While some of it wasn't "street food" - the places and restaurants that we visited all made fresh, delicious dishes to try. Come hungry!

Manoj took us to famous local cuisine around Thamel area. It is recommended to do this tour on your first or second day in Kathmandu to take all the advantages of the different dishes Nepal has to offer. Because we’ve been here for a few days already and had tried many dishes, he personalized the experience for us and that was very nice of him. Totally recommended!

We spent two days with Manoy, he has been a great tour guide. He’s really professional, friendly and flexible. He adjusted the tour for our needs and he managed all the organization really well even when we unfortunately got sick. Definitely recommend!
