Tour description

Rebels , fighters , thinkers and transgressors , Argentine women have played roles that built the identity of our country through culture , religion , politics , literature and science. Spies and libertines like Madame Perichón , holy witches like Mama Antula , forbidden lovers like Camila O'Gorman , the colonial world was filled with gatherings in Mariquita Sánchez 's house while Manuela Pedraza beheaded Englishmen in battle. From those who fought duels like Martina Chapanay to skilled politicians like Manuelita Rosas , the history of the Río de la Plata gave birth to great feminist thinkers like Alicia Moreau de Justo and Julieta Lanteri , to writers like Alfonsina Storni or Victoria Ocampo , to statesmen like Eva Perón , heroines in the Malvinas War and fighters like the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo.
We invite you on a tour of their fascinating history where we will visit squares, monuments , cathedrals and bridges , telling stories of women with a past of struggle , blood and glory .

Silvia's Walking-Tour durch Buenos Aires was simply fascinating! Her profound knowledge and passion for the history of Argentine women, who have shaped the identity of our country as rebels, fighters, thinkers, and transgressors, were clearly evident. During the tour, Silvia led us to the city's most significant sites, including the impressive Women's Bridge, the emblematic Plaza de Mayo, and the imposing Metropolitan Cathedral. Her tales of spies, saints, forbidden lovers, and heroines captivated us from beginning to end. Of particular note was the story of Juana Azurduy de Padilla, a Latin American guerrilla leader in the fight against the Spaniards, who is regarded as one of the most famous freedom fighters of the South American Wars of Independence. Overall, Silvia's tour was an unforgettable experience that not only brought us closer to the history of Argentina but also provided a deep insight into the inspiring stories and achievements of Argentine women. She was attentive to our questions and needs. We highly recommend this tour and thank Silvia for her expertise and warm demeanor!
