Beautiful Mayfair: Money, Power, Luxury, Royalty and Scandal

The tour lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes
Available in English

Description

Come and discover the rich history of Mayfair.
This is the small area of London where Royalty, Lords, Ladies, the Great and the Good (and the not so good!) from the UK and overseas have spent their time and their money over the centuries - but it wasn't always that way.

On the tour we'll meet Kings and Queens, Presidents and Prime Ministers, Generals and Dukes, Politicians and Rock Stars, Film Stars and Criminals, Royal Barbers and Great Minds, Pubs and Clubs, High End Fashion and Beauty, Births and Deaths, Jesus and Madonna!

From Hangings to Free Speech and from the Women's Right to Vote to the Theory of Evolution.
From World War 2 to 9/11. Royal Abdications, Scandals and Sex….and the very first Red Phone Box.

There's something for everyone and it's all in a stunningly beautiful area of London!

The Mayfair tour will visit:

  • Marble Arch (Start near Marble Arch and Bond Street stations)
  • Tyburn Gallows
  • Speakers' Corner
  • Park Lane
  • Green Street
  • Grosvenor Square
  • Mount Street Gardens
  • Curzon Street
  • Shepherd Market
  • Old Bond Street
  • Piccadilly
  • The Royal Academy (Finish, near Piccadilly Circus and Green Park stations).

I'll also be happy to give tips and advice on anything to help you get the most out of your time visiting London....Just Ask!

Hello, my name is Michael and I'm a born and bred Londoner. I've been fortunate to travel to many countries for both business and pleasure which I have loved doing. London is an amazing city in which it would take a lifetime to explore. There is so much history (and scandal!) beyond the main attractions. Let a Londoner show you round!
