Free Tour in TRUJILLO - Trujillo through the centuries.
Tour description
On my guided tour you will enjoy a pleasant walk, but without losing the rigor of its content: history, anecdotes and legends of our city.
We will begin our visit outside the city walls in the main square of Trujillo with a historical overview to put you in perspective. We will talk about Francisco Pizarro, “Conquistador of Peru”, the Church of San Martín and the palaces of the Marquis of the Conquest and the Dukes of San Carlos, both from the 16th century.
Next, we will go up inside the walls to transport ourselves back to the Middle Ages, walking through its streets and corners. We will walk through the fortified house of Luis de Chaves, where the Catholic Monarchs spent long periods of time. We will see the Alcazarejo of the Altamirano family, “a lineage that participated in the reconquest of Trujillo” and the house of Francisco Orellana, “Discoverer of the Amazon River”.
You will also be able to see the Alberca, the typical houses of the noblemen and the church of Santa María la Mayor, declared a “Monument of National Tourist Interest”.
Finally I will show you the Pizarro family home and the imposing 10th century Arab Alcazaba (Trujillo Castle).
Let yourself be guided by an official guide who will show you corners, secrets, stories and legends that only a guide born in Trujillo knows.
