Forgotten Women free history walking tour
Tour description
Discover the Hidden Heroines of History on Our "Forgotten Women" Walking Tour
Spanning over 1000 years of history, this unique tour will allow you to trace the footsteps and hear the stories of female scientists, artists and political activists who changed Scotland — and the world! You'll learn about the 18th century "Queen of Science" Mary Somerville, anti-Nazi spy Elizabeth Whiskeman, and the first seven female undergraduate medical students at any British University.
Tour takes place in the old town of Edinburgh with some steep hills and 10-15 stairs. In case of mobility issues please let the guide know so that alternative directions can be taken.
This is a free walking tour — we believe great storytelling should be accessible to all. At the end, you’re welcome to tip your guide what you feel the tour was worth (cash or card accepted).
You won't find these stories on any other tour, so book now and secure your place!
