I’m Ultan, a secondary school teacher who’s been living in Galway the past 6 years. Big football head and I’ve a soft spot for a good Guinness. I started this tour because I love Galway’s history and it gave me an excuse to talk a bit more. If you’re up for a stroll for 40mins with a few stories and a laugh, come along.

Tour description
Have you ever done a FREE tour where you are able to pour your own pint of Guinness at the end? If not, now is your chance ✅
Discover Galway in the most authentic and fun way with Stroll To The Stout, a completely free walking tour full of stories, laughter and local charm.
After exploring the city's rich history and hidden gems, we finish in a welcoming pub where you can pour your own pint, enjoy a discounted drink and take home a Polaroid photo as a keepsake.
It’s a light-hearted, memorable way to experience Galway through the eyes of someone who loves the place.
This is our first year in business, so make sure to get to us before the bigger crowds do!
Highlights
What will we see on this tour?
Meeting point:
Ard Bia at Nimmos
I will be waiting at the red gate outside Ard Bia at Nimmos. I will be wearing a green hat and also a green jacket!
1
Outside visit
Spanish Arch
One of the last remaining parts of Galway’s old city walls. We chat about trade, smuggling, and why it’s called the Spanish Arch.
2
Outside visit
Kirwan's Lane
A narrow medieval lane tucked away off Quay Street. We talk about the Kirwan family and what Galway was like back in the merchant days. It’s one of the few parts of the city that still looks like it did 400 years ago
3
Outside visit
Saint Nicholas' Collegiate Church
The oldest church in Galway still used for worship. We stop here to talk about Columbus, pirates, and a bit of local folklore. You can feel the history in the stone.
