Experience the castles from the inside: route through the Sant Fèlix festival
Tour description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Vilafranca del Penedès train station and begin walking through its streets to discover the magic of Catalonia's most human-towered festival.
We'll tell you the most surprising stories from this celebration, declared a Heritage Festival of National Interest.
We'll tour the historic center and learn how popular culture is experienced on the streets. We'll visit the parade , where we'll see traditional dances, such as the giants, the big heads, the batoners, the ribbons, and the devil dance, and learn about the role of each group within the overall festival.
We'll stop at Plaza de la Vila , where the most important human tower performance of the year will take place. We'll explain the symbolism of the human towers and how the human tower groups work, before watching live how human structures 8, 9, and even 10 stories high are erected. You'll be amazed by the silence before an attempt and the shout of joy when the human tower is successfully completed.
We'll also have time to observe the festive atmosphere, the music of the grallas and drums, and how an entire town gets involved in a celebration that combines tradition, effort, and collective identity.
