A Walk Through the Village of Comillas: Stories and Curiosities

The tour lasts 2 hours
Available in Spanish

Description

IMPORTANT: If you're looking for a "history class" filled with dates and names, this tour is not for you. However, if you want to discover the stories, anecdotes, behind-the-scenes, and curiosities that no one tells about Comillas, welcome!

It's 1883, in a salon in Barcelona, four wealthy men, sitting around a table, are playing tresillo. Suddenly, one of them starts to feel unwell, very unwell, and then collapses to the floor. His fellow players quickly get up to assist him, but there's nothing they can do. The man is dead. His name is Antonio, Antonio López, like many others, except this Antonio López is none other than the Marquess of Comillas, one of the richest men of the time, the man who left an indelible mark on the place he loved most in the world, his town, Comillas. And indeed, the life of Antonio López is a colossal epic that will be marked in every corner of this village.

But Comillas, although humble, has existed since time immemorial, and its people, from the sea and the land, gave it the character that would enamor the Great Man of the 19th century. That's why there are two Comillas: the traditional one, with roots deeply embedded in its green and blue essence, and the glamorous, modernist, elegant Comillas created by its Marquess. These two Comillas are inseparable, and the fusion of both gave rise to one of the most beautiful towns your eyes will ever see.

And you know what? I can't wait to show it to you!
