Hi, I am Thea, a real Berliner who was born in East-Berlin in the 80s! I want to show you the non-touristy parts of the town which are still flying under the radar (i.e. Wedding, Marzahn, Lichtenberg). Of course a tour in my home area Prenzl`Berg should not be missing - after all, my childhood stories are all from there :)

Tour description

Wedding – Creative diversity in the old working-class neighborhood

Wedding became known as a working-class neighborhood in the 19th century and has undergone a remarkable transformation since then. Come and see how the area has changed over the past 150 years and how the former factories and buildings of that era are now being used for art and creativity.

No district is as underrated as Wedding, which is so lively, authentic, full of contrasts, and has so much to offer.

++ Highlights of the tour ++

  • Silent Green Cultural Neighborhood

Berlin's first crematorium is now a popular place to think, research, and experiment.

  • Gerichtsstraße 23

The workshops in the north are colorful and wild and offer plenty of space for art, cooking, and communication.

  • Panke

We discovered the quiet, green side of the neighborhood.

  • Wiesenburg

A true secret that few Berliners know: a living work of art!

  • Uferhallen and Uferstudios

Did you know that the first electric tram came from Berlin? Discover where it was built and where it all began on my tour.

Who is this tour for?
For those who want to get to know Berlin better and broaden their horizons beyond the Brandenburg Gate and the Mitte district. A wedding can be intense and noisy, but also tender, peaceful, and very, very creative!
