Tour description
London Fields and the Old East End
Join me for a walk through the historic East End of London, starting at Hackney Town Hall and ending in the heart of Jack the Ripper teritory.
We’ll stroll across London Fields, once a pasture where animals rested on their way to market and later a hub of the squatters’ movement. Along the way, we’ll explore three of the East End’s most famous markets, cross the Regent’s Canal, to see the earliest local authority housing in the world.
The walk concludes in Brick Lane, a street shaped by centuries of migration, from the Huguenots to Jewish communities and, more recently, the Bangladeshi community, each leaving their mark on its culture, food, and character.
