Hi there! I’m Tristan, a traveller-turned-local, who has guided walking tours in Europe and now calls Melbourne my adopted home. After years of exploring new places, I’ve fallen in love with Melbourne’s stories, its laneways, its coffee culture, and its wonderfully quirky character.
I’m passionate about helping people discover what makes a city unique-not just the history, but the hidden gems, the legends, and the local moments you’d never find on your own. Join me for a relaxed and fun walk through Melbourne as we uncover the secrets, surprises, and flavours of this incredible city!

Tour description
Melbourne didn’t start out as the café loving city you see today. It began as a rough gold rush town, full of convicts, bushrangers, fortune seekers and big personalities.
On this free walking tour, we’ll explore how Melbourne grew from those gritty beginnings into the city it is today. We’ll start at the Old Melbourne Gaol, where the story of Ned Kelly still divides opinion, then walk through grand Victorian streets, Chinatown, historic arcades and some of the city’s most famous laneways.
Along the way, I’ll share stories of gold, migration, crime and Melbourne’s famous coffee culture, as well as what life in the city is like today.
We’ll finish by the Yarra River at Southbank near Hamer Hall, with great skyline views and plenty of nearby cafés, bars and restaurants if you’d like to keep the evening going.
This is an early evening tour, ideal for avoiding the summer heat and seeing Melbourne come alive as the lights switch on. Having guided free walking tours in Europe and now calling Melbourne home, I’m looking forward to showing you the city from a new perspective.☕
