In the Footsteps of Don Miguel de Cervantes through El Toboso
Tour description
In this guided tour, we will follow the footsteps of the author of the famous novel: "The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha", conducting a retrospective of the figure of Don Miguel de Cervantes, what is told and what is kept silent about him. At the same time, we will visit and learn about the monuments, culture, and traditions of the town that undoubtedly saw him walk through its streets. To do this, we will visit: the Church of San Antonio Abad (mentioned in the author's famous novel), the Convent of the Trinitarians (the religious order to whom Cervantes owed his release from captivity in Algiers), the north and west gates of the old wall (through which he had to enter and exit due to his profession as a tax collector, tax collector, and informant for the king), the Tercia building (where what was collected from the tithe and the alcabala was stored). In short, many traces and clues that time has not yet been able to erase from our world-famous writer.
